Awaits with baited breath...
So, after all that panic, I finally submitted TMA1 a day early via the e-TMA system. It's not a great effort but it certainly reads better that the 1st draft I had completed a few days earlier. Managed to get at least one reference from all - bar one - of my 'extra' books I read as research into the essay. I stayed just within the 10% rule at 1624 words. Not bad. It's now a week since submission! Wish me luck.
Took a few days off after that as I'd unintentionally shut out everything else - even the wife! - while I was at the essay day & night. Unlike A103 last year, I really did burn the midnight oil for this one: read all the extra books before I went to bed each night, usually till quite late. Not surprisingly I was knackered some days at work and even worse when I got home. I'll not do that again unless I absolutely have to.
So, now I'm on Block 2. Did the media diary this time around as its new approach made more sense to me. I couldn't see how my glib answers to 'how does [whatever I was watching] relate to celebrity?' would make sense later. This time they asked for a straightforward log of the day's media activity with your own opinions on what you were looking at i.e. like a normal diary entry. I did also make a start on the book last night but I think I might pass tonight as I've come down heavily with the cold. Seems ok so far.
One good thing that happened today which will be useful in the long run is that I have finally got my library card from the LSE library! The media section is enormous in there and will be very useful for future TMAs. Harrow library is fine but it didn't have many 'celebrity' books for the last TMA.
Please roll on TMA1's result! I need to know.
PS Sorry for my infrequency of posts at present. It's not that I'm busy, it's just that I'm finding it difficult to log on to Blogger because it keeps bloody asking me to sign up to Google every bloody time! And even when it says 'log in here if you want to use the old system' it still goes back to trying to convert me! Arrrgh! I'm not interested. This is the 1st time in 2 weeks I've been able to bypass all that crap.
